Basically if you are friends with me on any given platform you now know about the boutique I started...
But if you are new here let me tell you about it...
Beautiful & Beloved boutique offers unique and beautiful clothing and accessories hand made by survivors of sexual slavery and human trafficking.  These men and women are being rehabilitated to get control of their lives back and being able to make a living is a crucial part of that.  If you would like to read more, you can do so here...http://blog.beautifulandbeloved.com/2013/05/big-big-day.html

I thought for today's fashion post I would show you some of the items that I have fallen in love with and I am pretty sure you will to.

Plus it feels so good to wear something that has a story and a purpose.

This is the Beautiful and Beloved Maxi Dress in Yellow from Open Hand in India
Made by survivors of human trafficking

 I get complements on it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I wear it
and I love how long it is, I feel a bit like I am floating along

And I love to pair it with the Beautiful & Beloved Aztec Earrings by iSanctuary

My prayer for Oklahoma

So I had something else ready to post today,
but it just seems blaaaaaaa to post a life lately post when so many involved in yesterdays tragedies lives have been changed forever.  Their "life lately" yesterday looks drastically different today.
So, today I just want to offer up a prayer for those in Oklahoma.
I lived there for the last 3 years, I know the people, I know how amazing and strong and resilient they can be.  They have to be.  The weather is extreme, and that is putting it lightly.  In the 3 years I lived there,  we experienced an ice storm that took out power for 2 weeks, an intense drought where it did not rain for 100 days and during that 100 days the temp was in the 100s every day.  The wind blows in Oklahoma, every.single. day. and I used to say it was like living in a blow-dryer.  There is hail and tornadoes and I used to wander out loud why people would live there.  But the answer is, that the best kind of people live there.  The kind of people who don't mind hard work, the kind of people who live in small towns because they like knowing all their neighbors.  The kind of people who will pray with you at the Wal-Mart.  The kind of people who throw epic baby showers to celebrate new life with you.  The kind of people who always hold open doors, and smile at young babies, and listen when the old folks get to talkin because their stories are the best.
Oklahoma holds a special place in my heart and I am just broken to know the pain that they must be going through.  But I also know their strength and I know that through this storm there will be heroes and miracles and we will see the extraordinary that is Oklahoma.

Here is my prayer::
Will you join me in praying for these families??  The ones that have been devastated and those that are still in danger??

In Love,
ME

BIG BIG DAY!!!!

AHHHHHH!!  Today is the day and I cannot believe that it is here!!!!
Today is the Grande Opening of the Beautiful & Beloved Boutique!!!

You know that little shop I have been mentioning here and there, alluding to all over social media and this blog?  Well let me just tell you a little something about it.

Since October of last year God has placed people in my life and on my path in such a way that I KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that He is calling me to open a boutique.  Within a 3 month period I met founders of not 1 but 3 social enterprises seeking to help women who have been rescued from lives of being sexually exploited, trafficked, and living in extreme poverty.  I had no idea what to do with what God presented to me, but I knew I was supposed to do something.  And one night it came to me, an online boutique.  A place to bring all these ministries {and more} together, to help these women get their work out into the market place, to share their stories.

All items sold in the Beautiful & Beloved Boutique are handmade by survivors of slavery. Making a purchase from B&B is a purchase that will empower a human being who has been trafficked, forced to work in terrible conditions doing sometimes unspeakable things, who now finds that rescue has come but left them with little to no options for a future.  Businesses in India, Cambodia, Ethiopia, and even California come in and offer these souls jobs regardless of their abilities or talents.  They offer these survivors counseling and safety and a second chance at life.  And with the beautiful and beloved boutique I am offering these businesses an additional platform from which to sell their products.

Since making this decision God has provided me with more than I could ever ask or imagine in the form of help from people who believe in me and this little shop, women with wisdom way beyond my own willing to brainstorm with me, and ministries being excited and open to this new venture.
 So, here is where you come in.  In order to be successful I have to get the word out and I need you to do it.  Here is all I am asking.  Will you visit the boutique?
boutique.beautifulandbeloved.com
Then will you share it with your friends?
There is an option on every product page to "like" a product on Facebook or "pin" a product on pinterest.  Please like and pin away!!!  You have no idea how far that simple little act will go {really stinkin far!}
You could also like our facebook page which will also help your friends see the boutique not to mention you will be able to see new blog posts along with new products coming in + you can shop right from there.
{I have so many beautiful new product on their way right now, it is going to rock your socks off!!}
I would also be super grateful for any and all social shout outs so if you mention the boutique on either twitter or instagram and use the hashtag #purchasetoempower you will be entered to win the beautiful Enatesh scarf by FashionABLE that is in the boutique.  If you promote via facebook and tag me I will enter you in the drawing as well.
And last but not least, if you see something you love, please please don't hesitate to buy.  Lots of items are one of a kind {as far as fabric goes} and once its gone it will be gone.
Thank you faithful friends for helping me in this awesome endeavor.
God is so good and I know that He will do BIG things through this shop and this little blog, He told me so...
In His AMAZING LOVE,
ME
